SouthgateS was established in Withernsea by Mr. Stephen Southgate in 1981, Practicing as S. R. Southgate Chartered Accountant from premises above Terry Hall Estate Agents, in Withernsea. In 1984 the practice moved to its current location of Owthorne Manor on Hubert Street.

In June 1999, Antony Rookes became a partner and since then, the firm has practiced as SouthgateS Chartered Certified Accountants. Stephen retired on the 31 May 2001, but continues to be available as a consultant to the practice offering a wealth of knowledge and advice.

SouthgateS is probably one of the most respected accounting practices in the East Riding of Yorkshire and does more than just prepare accounts. We can offer constructive and pro-active advice on many financial matters and business development. We give a personal service to our clients, which combine our efficient knowledgeable experience to produce high quality financial services. As a result, we can provide these, not only to our clients, but also on a consultancy basis to third parties such as banks, solicitors and other advisers.

SouthgateS has always prided itself with its standard of training and actively encourages all staff to train for appropriate qualifications with the AAT, ATT and ACCA and follow on with our continued professional development.
